I've seen it so you don't have to

I give Transformers 2.5 our of 4 stars. And I'm going to give you some spoilers that will give you plenty of information that will allow you to be very cautious in letting your kids see it, however I don't think you should see this at all, unless on DVD with a language filter.

Obviously the action made this a PG-13, however I feel that the action was the smallest element that made this PG-13. This movie is full of sex! Yes, Transformers is unnecessarily full of sex. No, the Transformers do not have anything to do with sex, it's the main human character, Sam. He's a porn loving teenager. Twice, Sam refers to his nude magazines.

The writers took time to deviate from the whole reason of the Autobots introduction to Sam and his friend, who is a girl to have one of the Autobots say that he detects that Sam's ferramone level is quite high and he (the Autobot) detects that the human (Sam) wants to mate with the girl.

The biggest detraction from the movie is Sam's parents are trying to see if he is ok, but his bedroom door is locked and after they get inside his mother asks if he's been masturbating.
This scene felt very uncomfortable to watch and the writers didn't just drop it after Sam exclaims that he was not. The writers keep having the mom egg the subject on: she thinking he's not being truthful and tries to play the subject down, making Sam feel this is an acceptable activity, but this only makes the problem of this scene worse. She keeps babbling on about different ways such an activity can be acceptable and Sam and his dad keep telling her to shut up, and she doesn't.
The writers keep this awkward moment going for a good 60-90 seconds, maybe even 3 minutes. Then to top it all off, they find a girl in his bedroom and commend him for her being there.

The funny thing is they are all playing it cool with the possibility of him pleasuring himself and a girl being in his room, but all of this came after the dad told him "you now the rules, no locked doors in this house!" This scene was full of all sorts of confusing moral messages.
If there is a "No locked doors" policy in this house why are they so calm about him possibly having his "fun time" as his mom calls it and even worse why are they so calm about a girl in his bedroom?!?!

The writers, or Bay, or whoever is responsible for the sex in this movie they need to be kept away from Hollywood and need to go flip some burgers.

I liked the action and the story line but the sex made this a very disappointing movie. It had all I was expecting from a live action Transformers, except the sex...the sex was completely unnecessary, a total distraction from the point of the movie.

Seriously, you are better off waiting until this is on DVD, and watching with a language filter. At least you can be spared from the dialogue of such an embarrassing 3 minutes.
