The Savior completely makes this claim by "The Secret" fall flat on it's face. The Secret claims if you say, for example, "I want to be out of debt" according to The Secret by saying this you attract debt by the mere mention, even by the mere thought you will attract debt.
You can read in Matthew 7: 7-10
- 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
So, we now have been reminded that the "Universe", as they call it, does not hand out trials, tribulation or even wealth and success, just by the mere thought or audible mention.
The universe...ok, let's get real, God will give you what you ask, not single out one word in a thought or sentence and give only that to you. God is a thinking, feeling, emotional individual that cares for us. He's not some mystical being, without parts, passions, etc, just...out there as The Secret depicts the universe. Actually, it's a strange coincidence that The Secret's depiction of the "universe" is also how the Nicene Creed describes God.
What I find even more funny about everyone in the video is, most especially, they have a reverend...preacher, religious leader, saying the "universe" is responsible for all this. It's as if he doesn't recognize God's hand in all this.
Also why is it that 2 people in prison, in the exact same environment, one can be completely miserable and the other can be the happiest person? It's all about perspective, not the universe dealing out a bad hand to one prisoner and the universe dealing out a good hand to the other prisoner.
So for The Secret to say the "universe" is giving the homosexual man in The Secret all the flaque, that is crap.
The Secret almost contradicts itself. Mark Victor Hansen the "expert" at this concept of the law of attraction, he claims that it's the "universe" giving him all this crap, but then he goes right into personal responsibility.
Mr. Hansen tells him to look at all the things this man is focusing on, the homosexual man is focusing on all these negative things. The man changes his perspective from "I'm the minority that is being picked on" to someone that is just an ordinary person and boom, all the troubles that the "universe" was dishing out have disappeared.
This concept of the "Universe" being responsible for the fate of peoples' everyday events is crap, it's almost like people are believing in Greek gods again.
This truly rings of something that is deceiving the very elect.
