Just recently my mom intriduced me to the G.O.L.D. Standard from www.FirstRateFamily.com, and let me tell you this is awesome!

No, I have no affiliation with this website or the creators of this program, I'm just an excited parent that has read through the book offered on the site and applied it in my family and, oh boy, this really works!

In one weekend we had far fewer tantrums and far more willingness to be helpful around the house. I couldnt restate or paraphrase how this system works any better, than a quote, right from the site.

The “G.O.L.D. Standard” is a “token economy” program where children can earn tickets for demonstrating good behavior, doing chores, and for developing and utilizing desired values. They also pay tickets for certain privileges such as watching TV or playing video games. They lose tickets for misbehavior, not doing their chores, breaking family rules, and acting inappropriately.

It's great to have a neutral system in place that my children don't feel that we, the parents, are directly threatening their "fun time" and or privilages.
